Scientific Proof that Internal Motivators work better than External Motivators | Leaps & Bounds

After blogging last week about a great experience as a customer, Carly Morgan has written a piece called Scientific Proof that Internal Motivators work better than External Motivators with a TED video on the Leaps and Bounds Blog. In the video, Dan Pinks explores the scientific evidence behind internal motivators.

She concludes her post saying:

I’m a customer who has experienced World Class Service from a call centre advisor who’s got the internal motivators to do the best they can and it makes a massive difference!

Compared to you people, my knowledge is zero. Yet I have the experience of 30 years where I was able to motivate junior level staff – by just explaining stories and self experiences. When an assistant comes with a doubt, then I explain an incident and ask him to go ahead and solve the issue. A highly qualified lady was of the opinion that without experience she was not fit to apply for positions. I told her to study my resume, understand it, apply to you, and re think then and go for interview. She got the position in large US based company.
