When in the middle of a project or having to manage a challenging group, we have have to get the time and energy from somewhere. Often we extend our working hours and cut back on exercise to fit everything in.
The Kaizan Blog offers some great advice in their post If You’re Busy, Is it OK to Cut Back on Sleep and Exercise? | Kaizan Blog
They conclude with this call to action:
Consider the importance you place on exercise, sleep and thinking time/meditation. How easily do these activities get pushed off your timetable?
If you value the contribution these activities make to your life, schedule them in. Schedule the time and the place you will do them. And don’t break the appointment

This holds equally (or even more) true when you’re emotionally exhausted or stressed out by other things like relationship or family troubles. The periods when, even though you have the time, it all seems like too much effort are the times when you need it most.
Too true Martha, the ‘overworked’ angle is true for many people in the current economic climate but I agree that this contributes to the ‘bigger issue’ of being emotionally drained or stressed.
This may be even more significant if we try and compartmentalise work/home/social lives and do not appreciate the imact that one has on another – especially the impact on work pressures on home life and visa versa.
