Training jargon exposed and explained!

In business, on the tv, in the news and in our personal lives we are bombarded with short cuts.

And it’s getting just as bad in the training world – SMTs, OJT, JIL, SPL to name but a few. (Answers on a postcard please to TLAs rule, PO Box 13, Somewhere North of Watford.)

And then I found this webpage on www.knowledgejump.com after reading a link on twitter.

It’s is brilliantly laid out like the periodic table we used to study in science at school and explains a lot of the jargon really simply. (Just hover your mouse over the letters and the explanation pops up in the centre.)

I thought it was awesome so I thought I’d share it with you.

Enjoy.

SMTs – Social media tools

OJT – On the Job Training

JIL – Just in Time Learning

SPL – Self Paced Learning

And the last one in the address – TLAs – Three Letter Acronyms (Yuch!)
